You're killing me with your take on Geneva! Lake Geneva is so much more than kitschy shops, and if your weekend consisted solely of what you wrote about, I can see how you'd come to that conclusion. The sofistication you require is readily available if you had ventured out onto the water, strolled the shore path, or had dinner at Medusa. It's difficult to enjoy Lake Geneva if you were stuck in the downtown tourist trap all weekend. Give Lake Geneva another try, and this time, get out of town! New Buffalo blows.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. It's an alternative way to give back to Chicago and preserve the culture of the Humboldt Park Community. My organization is an online storefront where people can purchase everyday items for families in need in Humboldt Park. For the holidays, we are also offering gift cards so that parents can purchase holiday dinners and presents for the children. All the items we purchase are new, high quality, brand-name items from eco-friendly and fair trade retailers. Go to our site, listen to the families’ stories, and start giving. Plus, for every $20 donation you get a free personalized certificate and organic T-shirt! We are asking that this year instead of secret Santa and the traditional gift exchange individuals and companies consider donating in someone’s name at ReasontoGive.org. Please take a look at our storefront or read our blog at http://www.firebellydesign.com for more info.

Abbey,

This is such a great blog! It is beautifully written and very interesting. You have made me want to try this restaurant. The pictures of the food are great. It looks like you two love birds had quite a night!
